It is a good idea to use both closed and open questions because they can both be helpful. For example when asking a question and someone wants a short and sweet answer ask a closed question like “Do you like ice cream?” There will usually be just a short yes no answer. If someone is looking for a big very descriptive answer it is good to ask a open question like” What is your favorite type of ice cream and why?” A longer answer would be expected. In conclusion it is really important to use both open and closed questions.
